Happy Holidays! 

Prio Bangla, in collaboration with Arlington County, Arlington Arts and many other Multicultural Organizations, is pleased to invite you to participate in International Mother Language Day (IMLD) 2026, a regional community observance celebrating linguistic diversity, cultural heritage, native language, bi-lingual and multilingual education.

Event Details: Sunday, February 8, 2026, Time: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Venue: Kenmore Middle School 200 S. Carlin Springs Rd, Arlington, VA 22204

Program Motto: Languages Matter: Our Heritage, Our Future,” highlights the essential role of mother tongues in shaping identity, strengthening communities, and building an inclusive future for all. IMLD 2026 will bring together students, families, educators, policy makers, delegates, multicultural organizations, embassies, researchers, and leaders from across the DMV region.

The program will feature:

  • Multilingual cultural performances

  • School, community, embassy, and research kiosks

  • Storytelling, reading circles, and children’s activities from all communities 

  • Workshops and policy dialogues, developing a proposal for State's Bill

  • Interactive exhibits on language, culture, and heritage

  • Economic Impact of promoting Multilingual

We warmly welcome participation from individuals and groups interested in showcasing their language, culture, heritage, research, or expertise. Whether through performances, kiosks, volunteerism, sponsorship and or community engagement, your contribution will enrich this shared celebration and great project initiative.
