Fobana is a non-profit, non-political and non-discriminatory organization. It was established in Washington DC in 1987. We have been recognized as an umbrella organization, where all the Bangladeshi Americans gathers to celebrate their success and introduces their vibrant culture to this multi-cultural country. Fobana has been working tirelessly in North America, far away from our ancestral homeland to keep our indigenous culture to continue to our next generations in the US and Canada. We have been recently received appreciation for its work to assimilate our people within the mainstream of North American people and culture. Fobana is a symbol of our hope, aspiration and a unifying force to bring communities together and to move in forward direction. We hold annual 3-day conventions hosted by various member organizations based out of North America.
Popularity and attendance of Fobana conventions has grown exponentially over the years and recognized as the largest Bangladeshi event in North America comprised of more than 7 million people including 1st and 2nd generations of Bangladeshi rooted expats of students, entrepreneurs, professionals, intellectuals etc.
